2022.01.27 23:22 barbedknives 5-G Home Internet - Worst Customer Service in my Life
I recently set up service with the trashcan over the phone. The guy setting up the account seemed nice enough, so after the call I waited a few hours for a setup email to set up my account.
Nothing came and so I called back. After going through the steps with support they informed me that all the information the rep put in was wrong, including the PIN/pass code. Because the PIN was wrong, they told me they couldn't do anything until I received the modem. Crappy, but not so bad. So I waited.
Finally got it and set it up, the app worked fine and everything was working great. I called up again to get the account settled. After about 2 hours on the phone, the rep finally tells me that the only way to get into the account to correct the information was for me to go to a store. I was furious, because they were the ones who made the mistake, and now they expect me to take time out of the day to haul their equipment up to the store and maaaybe get this fixed. I asked if I go up there and they ask for a PIN, it's going to come up wrong and what then? She just said "they can fix it".
I hung up and called back again, trying to get someone else. Second guy was more helpful, and we actually got me to a point where he tried to email me a temporary PIN. I never got the email, and after we tried a second address, still never got it. I don't know if something was going on with their email system or Gmail, but it never worked. He told me he had to escalate it and I'd get a call back in 30 minutes. You can imagine whag happened after that half an hour.
So I call back and ask to be taken to the cancellation team. The rep goes through some basic things I told him wouldn't work, like asking me for my PIN, and we get nowhere. He tells me the same thing about having to go to a store with my ID, and I ask him to send me a return label. He tells me that he can't even do thag without a working PIN. I tell him this is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen and I want nothing to do with this company or product.
I'm going to go up to the store tomorrow and give them their crap back. Honestly, I am not normally like this, but this was a failure at every possible moment. The fact that they can pull up my account, verify all of the information, I have the physical router, IMEI, SIM, my address, social, the order number. Like I understand security, but the amount of effort it would take to fabricate all of this with the sole intention of paying my bill and setting up autopay is absolutely insane.
TL;DR: The product itself is probably good, but God help the Indian call center they have running the support line. If you get a lazy sales rep just trying to pad their numbers, you had better pray they actually entered it in correctly.
